My Lonely Pillow

(From Byron)

Oh! My lonely – lonely – lonely Pillow!
My head droops o’er you like the willow.

Where is my love – my lover?
Is it her my dreary dreams discover?

Must my head ache where her gentle brow lay?
While long nights sail lovelessly and slowly.

Oh! My sad and solitary Pillow
Let me not expire before she’s back o’er the billow

Send me kind dreams to keep my heart from breakin’
In return for tears I shed and aches I bear upon wakin’

In a python embrace let your arms cramp her
Draw her in like Harmattan night, when Home summons her.
